Mustafa Güneşoğlu Biography
Mustafa Güneşoğlu is a director born on September 15, 2001. He received his first education in Cinema-TV at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts High School. During this time, he won numerous awards at national and international festivals for the short films he created. Throughout his education, Güneşoğlu gained experience through internships at an advertising agency and a television channel, graduating from high school as the top student in his department. In 2019, he began his studies at Bahçeşehir University, where he continued to work on freelance advertising and fashion projects, further expanding his experience. In 2020, he served as a jury member at a short film festival where he had won an award the previous year and, in 2021, worked as an assistant to Prof. Nilay Ulusoy, the head of the Cinema-TV department at his university. In 2022, Güneşoğlu attended the Berlinale, Cannes, and Sarajevo film festivals and was selected for Netflix’s special training program. Additionally, as a result of winning a screenplay competition, he was invited to the Tashkent Film Festival in Uzbekistan. In 2023, he lived in Spain for six months as part of an Erasmus project, gaining valuable cultural experiences. Most recently, he completed the sci-fi short film “Genetic Art,” starring Ferit Aktuğ and Saadet Çamaş, and has initiated its festival journey. Mustafa Güneşoğlu’s deep passion for cinema continues to drive him to work, develop his skills, and keep learning.
Genetic Art, which premiered at the 31st Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, continues its festival journey. Our film was selected in 5 festivals and received awards in 3 festivals.
The film, which tells the story of our heroes who went to Çanakkale for military service and fought for our country at the age of 15, has achieved significant success at festivals.
The first short film I directed, “Saklambaç”, which addressed the issue of child labor, achieved very good results as a first film at festivals.
